Rarely has there been a time when the pharmacy agenda has moved so quickly, whether you are working in community, hospital or primary care, it is unlikely that you have been unaffected by any of the changes that have taken place within the last twelve months. The 2010 PDA annual conference will explore the most fundamental of these changes; those that may bring some good to the profession and patients, those that are quite frankly bad, particularly recently introduced legislation, and those that are plain ugly!

The first of a two day programme. Although each day can be considered as stand-alone event (the second day being held in Birmingham during February 2009), this day conference in September concentrates on the skills you need to develop good working and professional relationships with others; essential to help guarantee a successful pre-registration year. Following on from last years highly successful event we are very fortunate to again be able to run the conference alongside the British Pharmaceutical Conference (BPC) in Manchester.
The PDA Annual Conference 2008; 'Risk; Responsibility; Representation'.
Sunday 27 April 2008
Jury Inn Broad Street Birmingham
This year the PDA will be inaugurated as a Union. As over half of the PDA membership has opted to join the Union - and we predict many more will do so in the fullness of time - it is important that we dedicate a proportion of the conference to this issue. We believe that the presentations are just as informative and relative to non-union members. It is equally important that we continue to use this forum to expose all pharmacists to the key issues of the day and provide education to reduce risk in pharmacy practise. The second half of the conference therefore will explore the liabilities of the Responsible Pharmacist when the regulations are agreed to support the new Health Bill and as a consequence of this legislation, what are the inherent risks associated with delegation of activities to Registered and Accredited Checking Technicians?
